About Request Types
Setting up a request type is the first thing to do as an HR department in order to manage employees’ requests, follow up, approve or reject them.
As an HR user/ owner of the system, you can add various request types.
These could include
- Leave Requests
- Vacation Requests
- Performance Reviews
- Other types
To add a request type
- Select “Requests” from the navigation menu.
- Select “Settings“.
- Click the card “Request Type“.
- Click the button “New Request Type“.
- Input the Request Type Information
- Name: Input the name of the request. (e.g. Leave Requests)
- Request Icon: Select a preferable request icon from the drop-down menu to match the request type.
- Status: Select the request’s status from the drop-down menu; Active or Inactive.
- Input the Request Permissions
- Add New Requests: Determine who has permission to add a new request.
- View Requests: Determine who has the permission to view requests.
- Approve/ Reject Requests: Determine who has permission to approve or reject requests.
- Manage Requests to Others: Determine who has permission to manage others’ requests.
- Select all permissions from
- Everyone
- None
- Specific Branch(es): On selection, select the branch(es) from the drop-down menu by typing the first letter.
- Specific Department(s): On selection, select the department(s) from the drop-down menu by typing the first letter.
- Specific Designation(s): On selection, select the designation(s) from the drop-down menu by typing the first letter.
- Specific Employee(s): On selection, select the employee(s) from the drop-down menu by typing the first letter.
- Specific Role(s): On selection, select the role(s) from the drop-down menu by typing the first letter.
- Select all permissions from
- “Allow Approve or Reject my Requests” Checkbox: Checking it means a user/ employee can approve their own requests if they also have permission.
- Click “Save” once done.
- You’ll find the request type added as a card in Requests > Manage Requests.
