Prerequisites
Product Tracking Activation is a prerequisite from Inventory Settings.
Please follow the tutorial “Activating Product Tracking” for more information and a step-by-step guide.
Step 1: Assigning The Tracking Type In The Product's File
- Select “Inventory” using the drop-down menu.
- Select “Products & Services“.
- Add a new product or edit an existing one following the tutorials “Adding a Product” or “Editing a Product” as required.
- Input the product’s Inventory Information
- Tracking Type: Select “Expiry Date” using the drop-down menu.
- Set the product’s “Low Stock Threshold” as required.
- Click “Save“.
- Note that the Tracking Type cannot be changed once set.
Step 2: Adding an Expiry-Date-Tracked Product's Stock
Adding a stock quantity to a product tracked by the expiry date can be done in two ways
- Using Manual Inbound Requisitions.
- While creating an invoice instantaneously.
Adding Stock Using Manual Inbound Requisition
- Select “Inventory” from the navigation menu.
- Select “Manage Requisitions“.
- Click the button “Add“.
- Select “Manual Inbound” using the drop-down menu.
- Select the product with expiry date tracking using the drop-down menu under “Items“.
- Input the product’s “Expiry Date” as required.
- Input the product’s quantity under “Quantity“.
- Note that you can add a different expiry date to the same product by re-selecting it in a new row as needed.
- Click “Confirm“.

Adding Stock While Creating An Invoice
- Select “Sales” from the navigation menu.
- Select “Create Invoice“.
- Input the invoice details following the detailed tutorial “Creating an Invoice“.
- Select the product with expiry date tracking using the drop-down menu under “Items“.
- Input the product’s “Expiry Date” as required.
- Input the product’s quantity under “Quantity“.
- Note that you can add a different expiry date to the same product by re-selecting it in a new row as needed.
- Proceed with the invoice creation.
- Save the invoice following the detailed tutorial “Previewing and Saving an Invoice“.
