Importing Assets via Excel

The process of adding assets to the system can be done individually for each asset or by uploading all assets in an Excel file at once. This guide explains how to prepare the Excel file and how to import the assets into the system in a few moments.

Reviewing the Excel File for Asset Data Import

Make sure that the Excel file contains all the necessary asset data that you wish to upload to the system. This should include the asset code, purchase price, cash account, useful life, and other relevant information.

The Excel file should be in CSV format.

How to Import Assets via Excel File

Click on “Assets” under “Accounting” in the main menu, then click on the “Import” button.

  • Select the “Comma Separated” option and click on “Choose File” to upload the desired Excel file from your device.
  • Depreciation Method: Choose the depreciation method for the assets listed in the Excel file.
    • If you are using different depreciation methods for the assets, you should upload multiple Excel files, each containing assets with the same depreciation method.
  • Click on the “Next Step” button.

  • Note: If each column has a header like “Date” or “Amount,” do not enable the option “Import first row.” However, if the columns do not have headers, enable this option to prevent losing any data during the upload process.

Match the data in the Excel file containing the assets with the corresponding fields in the system so that the Enerpize system can recognize the type of data being uploaded. Then, click the “Import” button.

Note: The fields marked with the “*” symbol are default fields for assets, and you should include them in the Excel file. As for the other fields, you can leave them empty if you do not want to upload them through the Excel file.

A message will appear showing the number of assets successfully imported, as well as those that failed to import, along with an explanation of the error, so you can fix the issues that caused the failure.

After successfully importing the assets via the Excel file, you can go to the “Assets” dropdown under “Accounting” in the main menu to find the assets you uploaded to the system.
