Suspending an Account in the Chart of Accounts
You can suspend an account or a main account in the Chart of Accounts to prevent new transactions from being added to it, while keeping its previous transactions and its appearance in reports. You can reactivate it at any time.
🛈
Note: Suspending is different from hiding: hiding is available only for accounts that have no transactions, while suspending is used for accounts that have transactions and that you want to stop using.

- The message Account Suspended successfully. appears, and a Suspended label appears next to the account.
🛈

Reactivating a Suspended Account
- Open the suspended account in the Chart of Accounts.
- Click the actions button, then select Reactivate. This action appears on suspended accounts only.
- The message Account Reactivated successfully. appears, and the Suspended label disappears.
If the account belongs to a suspended main account, the main account (and any suspended main accounts above it) is reactivated automatically, so that no active account remains under a suspended main account. This also applies when you add a new account under a suspended main account or move an account to it.
