Can I clone an asset and change its department or location right away?

Yes, you can. When you clone an asset, a new asset creation form opens with most fields pre-filled from the original asset, and you can edit any field before saving — including the physical location if applicable, or any other details you want to change for the new asset.

Note that if “Define Individual Unit Details” was enabled on the original asset, no default value will be added to the physical location field on the new copy, and you’ll need to enter it manually.
