How does the system avoid asking the same person to approve twice?

When a leave request is submitted within a multi-cycle approval path, the system first identifies the actual person linked to each level (Direct Manager, Department Manager, or a specific employee by name), rather than treating the level as a general job title. If the same person turns out to be linked to more than one level:

  • Their approval is enough only once.
  • The system automatically skips any subsequent level where this person appears, whether as the sole approver at that level or within a group of approvers.
  • If the skipped level is the final level, the request is considered finally approved as soon as it’s skipped.

Note: this logic never stops or blocks the request at any stage; even when one or more levels are skipped, the request continues progressing normally until it reaches the first level containing a different person who hasn’t approved yet, or until the path is fully completed.
