How is the request status generated (e.g., “Approved 2/3”) and how is it calculated?

The request’s status is calculated automatically based on the number of levels that have approved the request out of the total number of approval levels required within the multi-cycle approval path linked to this request. The general formula is: (number of completed approvals / total number of levels).

Status progression stages (example for a request requiring 3 approval levels):

  • Upon submitting the request: Pending (0/3)
  • After the first level approves: First Approval Received (1/3)
  • After the second level approves: Second Approval Received (2/3)
  • After the third (final) level approves: Approved (3/3)

Note: if one of the levels is a duplicate of the same person who already approved at a previous level, it is automatically skipped and is not counted as a separate approval within the total number; additionally, enabling “Allow Higher-Level Approvers to Act Early” may immediately finalize the request to “Approved” status without passing through all the sequential numbers of the intermediate levels.
