If an employee has a rule under their name and a rule for their role, which one applies?
The rule under the employee’s name applies, and their role’s rule of the same type is ignored. The following table shows which rule applies in each case:
| Case | Applied rule |
|---|---|
| The employee has a rule under their name and a rule of the same type for their role. | The employee’s rule. |
| The employee belongs to more than one role and has a rule under their name. | The employee’s rule. |
| The employee has a rule under their name in only one restriction type. | Their rule in that type, and their role’s rules in the other types. |
| The rule under the employee’s name was deleted. | Their role’s rule, if any. |
| There is no rule for the employee or their role. | No advanced restrictions; the system works according to the Permissions section. |

Note: You can’t create two rules of the same type for the same users or roles, but you can create a rule for a role and another rule for an employee who belongs to that role.
