Project Settings, Project Forms, and Project Actions

This article explains how to customize the project creation form with additional fields, manage the actions used in project appointments and notes, and add related forms to projects through Construction Settings.

Before You Start:

  • These screens require the Manage Construction Settings permission.
  • The Actions tab appears only when the Clients Follow-Up module is activated by going to Settings from the main menu and selecting Apps Manager.
  • Activate the Construction app by going to Settings from the main menu and selecting Apps Manager.

Steps

  1. From the main menu, click Construction.
  2. Select Construction Settings.

From here, you can navigate between the three sections described below: Project Forms, Project Actions, and Project Related Forms.

Project Forms

This card displays a disabled preview (read-only) of the current project creation form.

Any new custom field added is automatically reflected in the Add, Edit, List, Filters and Sort, and View screens.

Project Actions

This tab appears only when the Clients Follow-Up module is activated. From here, you can add or remove the actions used in project appointments and notes by clicking Add, entering the name, and then clicking Save.

Project Related Forms

Click New Form to add a subform related to projects, and enter the following data:

  • Name (Mandatory): Text field.
  • Key (Mandatory): Text field.
  • Status (Mandatory): Dropdown, with Active selected by default, and the options Active and Disabled.
  • Description (Optional): Text area.

In the “Permissions” section, for each of the following four actions, choose who is allowed to perform it: Add Record, Update Record, View Record, and Delete Record. Each has a dropdown with the options: Everyone, None, Specific Branch(es), Specific Department(s), Specific Designation(s), Specific Employee(s), or Specific Role(s). Selecting anything other than “Everyone” or “None” reveals an additional multi-select field to choose the relevant branches, departments, designations, employees, or roles.

How the System Works

  • If you remove an action that is already being used in existing appointments or notes, it is not removed from those records; it remains displayed in them as is.
  • If you edit the title of an existing action, the title is automatically updated in all records (appointments and notes) that use that action.
  • After creating a related subform and adding its fields, a new tab with the name of that form appears in the project view screen.

Validation Rules

When a required field is left empty while creating a new related form, the text “Required” appears next to it.
