Cloning a Bid
This feature allows the system user to clone an existing bid to create new, similar bids, without needing to re-enter its data from scratch.
Before You Begin
- You must have the “Add Bids” permission to be able to clone a bid.
Steps to Clone a Bid
A bid can be cloned in one of two ways:
- From the sidebar menu, click on “Construction,” then go to “Bids.”
- Click the “Clone” button for the required bid directly from the bids list or click the “View” button to open the bid’s details screen, then click the “Clone” button from within the view screen.
How the System Works
- When a bid is cloned, all of its data is copied, but with a new creation date (the current date) and a new sequential number.
- You’re automatically redirected to the new bid’s add screen. For more details, see the “Adding a New Bid” article.
- Cost sheets or quotations linked to the original bid are not cloned; the cloned bid starts without any cost sheets or quotations linked to it.
