How does the system decide which printer prints which item?

Routing is based on the product category — each printer group is linked to specific categories, and when an order is created, the system automatically splits it according to its item categories and sends each part to the printers of its assigned group:

  • Items in the “Food” category → a ticket on the “Kitchen” group printers.
  • Items in the “Drinks” category → a ticket on the “Bar” group printers.
  • The invoice → always printed on the Receipts (Cashier) group printers at least once, regardless of the order’s contents.

Each printer only prints the tickets routed to its groups — the kitchen printer does not output bar tickets. For a printer linked to more than one group, if one of those groups is the invoice group, the invoice prints first followed by the remaining groups’ tickets in assignment order.

If an item is printing on an unexpected printer, first check the product’s category and then the categories linked to each group — routing is a direct reflection of that assignment.
