ZATCA Warnings on Valid Invoices
When an invoice is sent to the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) and accepted, the authority may attach warnings to its acceptance decision. This guide explains what these warnings are, how they appear, and what to do when you see them.
What Are ZATCA Warnings?
ZATCA warnings are advisory notes attached by the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority portal to an invoice acceptance decision. Their appearance does not mean the invoice was rejected or contains an error — the invoice is fully valid, accepted, and validated. The warnings are simply notes from the authority to help you improve the quality of data submitted in the future. The system does not generate these warnings and has no control over their content.
How Do Warnings Appear in the system?
Warnings are displayed directly on the invoice view page in both Arabic and English, with a clear note stating that the invoice is valid and accepted and that these warnings originate from the ZATCA portal and are not error messages from the system.
Only warnings for invoices issued from 12 July 2026 onward are displayed — no warnings are shown for invoices predating this date.
What Should You Do When a Warning Appears?
No action is required to complete the submission or validate the invoice — the invoice is already accepted from the moment ZATCA accepted it. It is recommended to review the warning content, note its guidance, and take it into consideration to improve the quality of future invoices where possible.

- Warnings do not affect the invoice status or its tax validity in any way.
- ZATCA warnings are entirely separate from error messages that block submission — if warnings appear, it means the submission was successful.
- The system has no control over warning content or when it is issued — warnings originate exclusively from the ZATCA portal.
