What happens to the distributions when you delete and restore an advance payment?

When you delete an advance payment invoice that is distributed on sales invoices, the system asks you to confirm the deletion with the message Advance payment #… is distributed on invoice …; deleting it will remove the distribution. Are you sure you want to delete it?. After you confirm, the following happens to the distributions:

Action What happens to the distributions and sales invoices
Deleting the advance payment The advance payment moves to the Trash, and its distribution on the sales invoices is deleted permanently. The paid amount, the remaining amount and the payment status are recalculated for every invoice it was distributed on, so an invoice’s status may change from Paid to Partially Paid or Unpaid.
Restoring the advance payment The advance payment comes back with its payments and journal entries, but the distributions don’t come back. Its full amount stays undistributed, and the sales invoices stay as they were after the deletion.

To link the advance payment to the invoices again after restoring it, open each sales invoice and click Distribute Advance Payment. For details, see Distribute an Advance Payment Across a Sales Invoice.
